Grade 11 Advanced English, Page 13: A Guide to Activity 8
Tribunnews.com has published a guide to Activity 8 on page 13 of the revised Grade 11 Advanced English textbook under Kurikulum Merdeka. Although presented as an answer key, the article describes the listening exercise without providing the five missing words.

What students are asked to do
Activity 8 asks students to listen to "It's Our Blood" and complete five blanks using vocabulary they have learned. The textbook provides access to the accompanying audio.
The exercise is part of a vocabulary lesson. As Tribunnews.com explains, learning vocabulary involves not just a word's meaning, but also its pronunciation, spelling and use in sentences.
The story opens in a home decorated with family photographs and the message "We are all connected by Blood." It traces how family connections extend to the surrounding community, land, trees and river. Industrial development brings environmental damage and dwindling resources before residents recognize their shared responsibility and begin working together toward recovery.
What the answer-key article provides
Tribunnews.com urges students to attempt the exercise independently before consulting the key. It describes the key as a reference for parents checking their children's work.
However, the answer field tells students to respond according to their interests rather than listing the words for the five blanks.
The story's place in Unit 1
The page-13 task belongs to Unit 1, "Are We Connected to Nature?" The story is adapted from Bea's 2021 work "It's our blood," published in "Our Climate Our Stories," pages 22-24.
The textbook's scope and sequence labels "It's Our Blood" an "abstract, single, spoken text." By comparison, the earlier "Yew Story" is labeled a "concrete, single, spoken text."
The book contains four units for Fase F under Kurikulum Merdeka. Unit 1 and Unit 2, "Discovering Ourselves," focus on narrative texts. Unit 3, "Why is Water Important?," and Unit 4, "Why Should We Live a Healthy Life?," address exposition texts.
