BNPB Says It Has Not Received Names of Officials Detained in KPK Anti-Corruption Raid
Indonesia's disaster agency confirms several office rooms were sealed following the KPK's operation but says it has not yet been informed which officials were arrested in the corruption probe.

BNPB: As of Now, We Do Not Know Who Was Caught in KPK's OTT
Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) stated on Wednesday that it has not been informed of the identities of officials arrested during the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) recent anti-corruption operation at its headquarters.
Berton SP Panjaitan, Head of Data, Information, and Disaster Communication at BNPB, addressed reporters at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs in Jakarta, saying the agency has yet to receive official notification regarding the names of those detained.
"As we mentioned earlier, we have not yet received the names of those involved in the operation," Panjaitan told the press conference on October 14, 2026.
The disaster agency confirmed, however, that KPK investigators sealed multiple rooms within its office building following the operation conducted on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
BNPB Pledges Full Cooperation with Investigation
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the identities of those arrested, BNPB emphasized its commitment to supporting the legal process. Panjaitan stressed that the agency respects the investigative procedures being carried out by the anti-corruption commission and will uphold the presumption of innocence for all individuals involved.
"Certainly, we at BNPB support the legal process cooperatively, and we will provide all the documents needed for this legal process," Panjaitan stated.
The agency assured the public that its disaster management operations would continue without interruption despite the ongoing investigation.
Fourteen People Detained in Nationwide Sweep
The KPK's operation resulted in the detention of 14 individuals across the Greater Jakarta area, according to KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, who spoke to media in Yogyakarta on Tuesday.
Among those arrested was Rustian, the Secretary General of BNPB, along with procurement officials and several individuals from the private sector.
"In this incident, the KPK team secured a total of 14 people, including the Secretary General or Sestama, PPK, and other parties, including those from the private sector," Prasetyo confirmed.
The spokesperson explained that the operation targeted alleged corruption in the procurement of goods and services within BNPB, including irregularities in the use of standby funds designated for disaster management activities.
Cash and Precious Metals Seized
During the raids, KPK investigators seized substantial evidence, including 1.4 billion rupiah in cash and an undisclosed quantity of precious metals.
The anti-corruption commission has not yet disclosed further details about the specific projects under investigation or the full scope of the alleged corruption scheme.
BNPB, which plays a critical role in coordinating Indonesia's response to natural disasters and emergencies, has faced scrutiny over its procurement processes as the country continues to manage forest fires and other environmental crises.
